Technical FAQ

OptiStack includes a dedicated "Plastic Shim Mode". When enabled, the algorithm will first solve using metal spacers, then automatically calculate the remaining gap and suggest the precise plastic shim combination required to reach 0.00mm tolerance.
Absolutely. OptiStack stores all values in high-precision floating point numbers. The UI toggle simply changes the display format. No rounding errors are introduced by switching view modes.
Yes. OptiStack supports shimless operation using Fraction Kits (F-0.10 and F-0.01 spacers). This allows decimal width accuracy without plastic shims, using only metal inventory for professional-grade setups.
OptiStack will not fake a setup. If your inventory cannot realize the required pocket widths within your tolerance band, it returns a blocking reason and a missing tools list (exact spacer widths and quantities needed).
Once a job is saved, you can assign edge quality ratings (1-8 scale) to each slit's inbound and outbound edges. Reference images help ensure consistent ratings. All edge quality data exports to your PDF setup sheets for quality control documentation.
